THE TRUMP PLAYBOOK:

GREENLAND TARIFF DEADLINE
Starting February 1st, new U.S. tariffs are set to hit multiple European countries, tied to growing pressure for the U.S. to acquire Greenland. The concern is this could trigger a larger trade issue between allies, impacting prices, markets, and confidence in the U.S. dollar.

WHY GREENLAND MATTERS
Greenland is strategic for three reasons: national security, rare earth minerals, and Arctic shipping routes. It already hosts a U.S. defense installation and sits in a critical position between the U.S. and Russia. It also has major untapped rare earth resources used for EVs, AI chips, and advanced electronics, potentially shifting power away from China.

TRUMP’S ULTIMATUM TO EUROPE
Trump announced a phased tariff plan: 10% tariffs begin February 1st on countries including Denmark, France, Germany, the UK, and others. If no agreement is reached by June 1st, tariffs rise to 25%.

MARKETS REACT: SAFE HAVENS + VOLATILITY
With trade war risk rising, investors tend to flee uncertainty and hedge in “safe haven” assets like gold and silver. Tariffs also threaten corporate earnings by raising costs, companies either absorb losses or pass prices to consumers, both of which can hurt profits and stock prices. Europe could be hit hard in sectors like autos, luxury goods, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, with spillover risk to U.S. markets.

WHY THE DOLLAR IS WEAKENING
Normally, global uncertainty boosts the U.S. dollar, but here investors are questioning U.S. stability if it’s willing to pressure allies with tariffs over Greenland. That can reduce confidence and push money into alternative assets or other countries.

3 POSSIBLE OUTCOMES

The U.S. buys Greenland outright (unlikely, since Greenland’s people would likely need to approve).

The U.S. gains control without ownership via military expansion or long-term strategic agreements (most realistic).

This fades in 1–6 months as a negotiation tactic.

BOTTOM LINE
Greenland isn’t a new idea historically, but a true purchase is legally and politically difficult. The bigger risk is escalating trade retaliation, market volatility, and worsening global confidence—while long-term, staying disciplined usually beats panic-selling.

You missed a reason. Greenlands ice and glaciers are experiencing an exponential melting event. This poses a significant impact to rising sea levels AND confirmation of a direct correlation of global warming. All of which are magnificent opportunities to manipulate the narrative…

    • @the12no34 says:

Russia is no threat to America or even more than 10% of Ukraine. This is a fake threat. America has always been allowed to have bases there and can always put more.

      😂

    • @SuperZekethefreak says:

In reality, the US was the only trade partner playing by the rules. We finally have a President that levels the playing field, and forces our NATO allies to spend more and get in line. Nothing bad about that at all.

    • @ActiveRehabMobility says:

      @SuperZekethefreak

Except the guy is treating every ally with invasion treats and being all buddy buddy with Putin and Netanyahu. It’s clear both presidents have the dirts on Trump and he is doing what he is told. But unfortunately a lot of you watch Fox News so I can see where some of these opinions are coming from.

  • @gtsfyr1 says:

The US already have an agreement with Denmark to build as many bases as they want on Greenland🤷‍♂️

  • @playlistalaska5611 says:

That’s why politicians should not be allowed to participate in the stock market! They are benefiting from their own policies timed perfectly to harness the profits.

    • @bennoboy97 says:

Lol good luck trying to pass that law… Through politicians :p

    • @playlistalaska5611 says:

@bennoboy97Kind of like asking your dog to watch your steak for sure!

    • @eyelovecolorado2195 says:

Ilhan Omar and Nancy Pelosi would totally disagree with you. They made millions in the stock market on a $150,000 salary. LMAO

    • @yingleifang8953 says:

@eyelovecolorado2195 Then pass a law to catch everyone, this is clearly not a partisan problem. I don’t know why you single out Ilhan Omar and Nancy Pelosi, we all know everyone in the congress and government top branch do insider trading.

    • @Lucas-wn5wm says:

@eyelovecolorado2195 nancy pelosi is the mascot for insider trading.

  • @finnhelgesen7443 says:

You missed the part about Denmark offering US to expand defense in Greenland and asking what else the US wants with only US administration response they have to own it. Also where is the evidence Greenland had sizeable rare earth’s and are they cost effective to extract.

So it seems there must be more to the story.

    • @michaelg4931 says:

As I posted in another comment. The rare earth mineral reserves are NOT proven reserves. There has been ZERO prospecting to verify them much less determine economic viability.

    • @alexanderschwoch5084 says:

The rare earth stuff means Nothing. Building Up and building refineing facilities Takes 10-20 years and costs trillions before IT will Playoff. They cant build all this because this years the US Economy will crash and thats the only Thing Trump wants. Out of Nato and a crashing USA so He can Go füll dictator and No Other countries have to say anything.

    • @gavinburke8421 says:

Yeah, it’s hard to explain it away as some kind of negotiating tactic on the behalf of Trump and therefore a nothing burger. You have to look at it in the broader context of Venezuela and the oil seizures. Trump is on a roll. Best thing the Europeans can do it put 1500 troops up there with air defenses. If they don’t he’s going to take it. It will be a major miscalculation on Trump’s behalf and will be his “Ukraine”.

    • @alexanderschwoch5084 says:

@gavinburke8421nope best thing isnt troops and trump alone isnt thr problem. Best thing is to cut of thr usa complrtly from the world and implode from inside so they finally get out these people in the congress and put in real people!!! The us system is the problem and not trump. He is only thr stupid guy who shows the world the reality that was allways there. thr movie civil war has to happen or nothing will ever Change

    • @johnmccracken3473 says:

Trump wants it so he can claim to have expanded the US. Same reason he wants the Nobel Peace Prize , renamed the Kennedy Center (who names things after themselves) , this is ego ran amok and the sheep will bay whatever he says.

  • @jamesyoo2951 says:

This would have been a lot easier if Greenland was controlled by a drug fueled dictator.

  • @user-od9iz9cv1w says:

Fact: At one point USA had 17 military bases on Greenland. US independently decided to scale back its presence on Greenland. Greenland has confirmed they are open to supporting US military on THEIR land.

Fact: Acquiring Greenland would NOT give US mineral independence ‘almost instantly’. Greenland has vast mineral deposits. They have largely been discovered and verified by an Australian guy who has acquired mineral rights. But developing those deposits is not instantaneous. Greenland is a vast Arctic territory. No roads, ports or anything near these deposits. And the population of Greenland is not keen on seeing their pristine land turned into a toxic mining area. If you took over Greenland and ignored the indigenous population, it would take 20 years to get into production at scale. Canada meanwhile has vast resources and we will be into production in 2027, but hey, Trump does not need anything Canada produces. Just ask him.

Fact: NATO nations did not send military support to Greenland for reasons unknown. Trump has been hyping his Greenland imperialism for a year. He has publicly declared that he will take it by force if they do not capitulate. US is part of NATO, and specifically agree not to invade a NATO nation. If attacked, Denmark will declare article 5 demanding NATO defend Greenland against US attack. To demonstrate their support, they have stationed troupes there so an attack on Greenland is an attack on Europe.

Tell me something… What would be different if China demanded Hawaii. Or Canada demands Alaska. After all, it is important to our security and we think it has massive gold reserves that we should be mining. Huh??

US is losing its status of global currency reserve. US has broken the trust and is spiraling into massive debt. He wants to buy Greenland for $706Billion. That would be more deficit on top of the trillions he is already short. When a nation loses this status, it can no longer print money to cover rising debt. Inflation runs rampant. Not 5%.. more like 105%. It is over for US. Buy gold while you still can. Diversify your holdings into Asian currencies.

    • @FranciscoSantos-hs1ci says:

      someone filnally bringing facts

    • @CommanderRiker0 says:

Fact: Europe can’t build a military without cutting 90%+ of its welfare state and politicians know that can’t happen. Europe created the monster that is the USA by outsourcing their defense on a budget. The world is going to learn its dog eat dog real soon. The last 50 years of relative stability is gone.

    • @rodiculous9464 says:

That’s all well and good but trump cant read along with like 60% of americans 🤷‍♂️

    • @kreuzrittergottes9336 says:

might makes right; go check out a gym sometime and you might begin to understand. canada is a joke of a country while the USA runs the world.

    • @AK68910 says:

Good stuff. Only piece I would counter is spending $700+B on Greenland: If you could spend a declining fiat currency that you knew was going to be worth dogsquat in 10 years, wouldn’t you rather spend it now and get something of value for it?

I think the two strongest assets that will be worth holding on to are gold and… REAL ESTATE!

    • @CraftEccentricity says:

@Think2mutt Why shouldn’t they support him? You do realize Greenland falls within the regions of mutually assured destruction? Would you rather missiles land on American soil, or shoot them down over Greenland? If America owns Greenland, both China and Russia will think twice. Personally, after the way Europe has treated Ukraine, they shouldn’t be trusted anywhere near Greenland, they are disgustingly weak, and greedy!

  • @manofcultura says:

I mean its been a court order since before trump took office the first time around. They have already been whitewashed or destroyed anyways. Just like JFK if it’s a massive conspiracy well never know because things have been destroyed

    • @TheDocRamkin says:

@CDF31 Not true, a massive transparent investigation leading back to Israel and Jewish international mobsters could be done, they just don’t even though theres a law saying they have too. So, when all else fails they take you to war.

    • @JeremyPoirier-qb5jg says:

SO ignore all facts and just be upset….you voted for Biden and Kamala didnt you?

    • @12345678bobster says:

As a European, I am happy and hope that Trump will be able to get control of Greenland. It is in the best interest not only for US safety, but also for Europe. I feel much better knowing the US can defend from there, than what the current situation is. Denmark is doing nothing with it (also not with the resources), Greenland as a whole is a net-negative on the tax payers of Denmark.

    • @F92Luis says:

I have yet to meet any european that believes that because anyone minimally informed on the topic knows that is simply trump propaganda. the US had up to 17 military bases on greenland thanks to a deal with greenland. the US on its own volition cut that to 1 base which is barely functioning. they could just re-activate the other 16 bases. and the national security excuse is just nonsensical when the closest way from Russia and China is through Alaska…

    • @JeremyPoirier-qb5jg says:

@F92Luis Simple google search would tell you there is ONE major military base on greenland. So grats on being LESS than minimally informed.

  • @adamm5717 says:

It’s insane just to watch it. That’s the dumbest market collapse that I ever saw.
