Foreclosure Equity Skimming: State Law vs Constitutional Rights #realestateinvesting #realestate

Think house flipping is straightforward? Think again! In states like Washington, Maryland, and Oregon, foreclosure laws protect homeowners in foreclosure from what is called equity skimming. This means that if you buy a foreclosed property and resell it for a profit, you could be breaking the law—even if the deal is fair.

This is yet another example of state laws superseding the broader idea that buying and selling property is always legal. Knowing these laws isn’t just smart—it’s critical.

The government: You take the risk, but we get the profits. Oh yeah and taxes. What has the government done to help my flip? Did they hire contractors? Pay them? Did they give me a $50k budget for materials? No. They do nothing but make my life harder and want me to pay them for the hassle 😂
