Buying now while it’s flat — when it pumps, it’s too late
Not if you don’t plan to use the money for a few decades
Not true index funds are rather shelf stable you can buy them at all time highs and statistically speaking in a year time you’ll be +13%
Even grandma knows about $XA34K now 😂👵 she’s putting $8K in next to me

0%, what about deposit/transfer fees, or fees in general for banking with these firms? They make their money from somewhere

I see risks with the increase in Index funds / ETF (currently more ETFs than Stocks worldwide).
People are more and more investing in those instead of individual stocks. Meaning they push prices of stocks up, but they never really evaluated if the company is worth that much. This decoupling is especially critical as more people do it. As with most trading strategies, they might not work if you do them too much because they change the very market your investing in.
The danger is that all the same 4 companies control 80% of the entire market. Our retirement plans are tied up in all of this. That’s fine as long as these companies do beneficial stuff for society, but they don’t. We will absolutely end up renting everything and only “owning” a retirement account
Standard of living was noticeably higher 80 yrs ago today the average American can’t afford a new car let alone a house
Average returns compared to average inflation…?
